I found this week’s #MakeoverMonday challenge particularly difficult. I had too many ideas for how to visualize this data sets! My visualization went through many iterations before the one I settled on below.
Much like Goldilocks, I had to try out all the options before I found the one that was just right. To get to the one that was just right, I picked a very small subset of the data that was available to me in order to narrow my focus to the US.
I chose this subset, because I found it very interesting that the source of this data labeled America (The Land of the Free), as a country to watch because of significant changes to their freedom of press.
This really made me think, because one of the many freedoms Americans are given in the Constitution is the freedom of expression which includes the freedom of speech and of press. However, with the way that the freedom of press scores has been trending for the United States over the past few years really makes you think about how long will we actually keep these freedoms?
